Main Ingredients
  • 2 cans Pillsbury Grands cinnamon roll dough Fluffy and decadent, these rolls will be your base.
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted Adds richness and a golden finish.
  • 2 large eggs For binding and structure.
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream Ensures creaminess and depth of flavor.
  • 1 tbsp flour Helps to thicken the mixture.
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon sugar For that irresistible sweetness and spice.
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg Adds warmth and depth.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract A comforting, aromatic touch.
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans (optional) For crunch and earthiness.
  • 1 package icing from cinnamon rolls Sweet and creamy, it’s the finishing touch.
  • to taste powdered sugar or maple syrup (if desired) Optional for additional sweetness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by melting the butter and generously coating a 9x12 baking dish with it.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F for optimal baking.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, flour, cinnamon sugar, nutmeg, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and slice each roll into eighths, creating small, bite-sized pieces.
  5. Add the sliced dough pieces into the bowl with the egg mixture. Gently toss until each piece is fully coated.
  6. Pour the coated dough pieces into the greased baking dish, spreading them out evenly.
  7. If any egg mixture remains, drizzle it over the casserole to prevent dryness.
  8. For additional texture, sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top.
  9. Place the dish in the center of the preheated oven and bake for 18-25 minutes or until the dough pieces are lightly golden brown.
  10. Once baked, let the casserole cool for 5-10 minutes to keep the icing from soaking in.
  11. Warm the icing in the microwave for about 15 seconds and pour it evenly over the casserole.
  12. For a final touch, sprinkle the top with powdered sugar or drizzle with maple syrup before serving.

Notes

You can prepare the cinnamon roll pieces and egg mixture the night before and store them separately for a quick breakfast the next morning. Experiment with different nuts or chocolate chips for a sweet twist! Serve with fresh fruit like strawberries or bananas for a balanced meal.
