Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground chicken Lean protein that forms the base of the skillet.
  • 12 oz cooked pasta Choose penne, rotini, or spaghetti.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Enhances richness and helps cook the chicken evenly.
  • 0.5 cup diced onion Adds depth and fragrance.
  • 1 tsp salt Essential for seasoning.
  • 1 tsp pepper Adds subtle heat.
  • 1 tsp granulated garlic Infuses the skillet with garlicky goodness.
  • 24 oz marinara sauce Savory sauce that ties all flavors together.
  • 0.25 cup parmesan cheese Nutty and salty finish.
  • 1 handful fresh basil Optional garnish for brightness.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium-sized skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until warm.
  2. Add ground chicken, salt, pepper, and granulated garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until chicken starts to brown.
  3. Stir in the diced onion, cooking with the chicken until meat is fully cooked and onion is translucent, about 3-5 more minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low. Add cooked pasta and marinara sauce to the pan, stirring gently to combine until warmed throughout.
  5. Remove skillet from heat and sprinkle with parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt slightly. Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, consider sautéing minced garlic or red pepper flakes with the onion. You can substitute ground turkey or beef for the chicken, or use whole wheat pasta for added fiber.
