Method
Cooking the Chicken
- Heat the olive or avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the top of the boneless chicken breasts generously with garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and chili powder.
- Once the oil is hot and shimmering, add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and sauté for about 3 to 5 minutes per side.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it cool slightly before slicing it into strips.
Assembling the Wraps
- Lay the flour tortillas flat and divide the salsa evenly, spreading it down the center of each tortilla.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the salsa and add the sliced avocados.
- Top with the sliced chicken and wrap by folding the bottom of the tortilla up and then folding in the sides.
Grilling
- Place the wraps seam side down in the skillet and press gently while cooking for about 3 to 4 minutes, flipping once until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Serving
- Serve the Grilled Avocado Chicken Wraps immediately, ideally with a side of salsa or sour cream.
Notes
For added depth of flavor, marinate the chicken in spices a few hours prior to cooking. To streamline meal prep, cook extra chicken for use in salads or other wraps.
