  • 1 teaspoon oregano Adds aromatic herbal notes.
  • 1 teaspoon table salt Enhances all flavors.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Introduces savory depth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Complements garlic and balances flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, add all the measured spices together: chili powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, oregano, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Using a spoon or whisk, mix the spices thoroughly until they are well combined and uniform in color.
  3. This recipe yields about 2 tablespoons of seasoning. For every pound of chicken breast, use 1 tablespoon of the seasoning.
  4. Rub the seasoning onto the chicken breasts before grilling, baking, or sautéing.

Notes

Customize the heat by adding cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. For best flavor, use fresh spices. Consider doubling the batch for future meals.
