Ingredients

Seasoning Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder Rich warmth and slight kick for essential taco flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin Earthy and nutty undertones enhance the depth of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds a savory aroma to the mix.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Infuses a subtle smokiness reminiscent of outdoor barbecues.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Delivers a mild sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano Imparts a slightly floral and earthy flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt Elevates the other flavors.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients—chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, oregano, and salt. Stir until well blended.
  2. Transfer the seasoning mix into an airtight container for optimal freshness.
  3. When ready to cook, brown your ground beef in a skillet, then drain the excess fat.
  4. Stir in one batch of your homemade taco seasoning along with 1/3 cup of water.
  5. Allow the mixture to simmer over low heat until the water evaporates and the beef is perfectly seasoned.

Notes

For a spicier blend, add cayenne pepper or hot sauce. Use fresh herbs for enhanced flavor but adjust quantity accordingly. Let seasoned beef marinate for 30 minutes for deeper flavor.
